The short version
OrientLore does not offer user accounts, accept payments or ask for a birth date to be stored. We collect limited technical and usage information to operate the site, understand which pages and tools are useful, and protect the service.
Information we collect
Usage and device information
When you visit, our first-party analytics may record the page path, page-view duration, selected interface interactions, referring page, full page URL, browser and device type, language, time zone, viewport and screen size, device pixel ratio, app version, and the date and time of the event. For labelled controls, a short copy of the visible control text may also be recorded.
Identifiers and attribution
We create session and browser identifiers so that related events can be understood together. The browser identifier may be derived from a Canvas fingerprint or generated randomly, then stored in your browser. Campaign parameters such as UTM values, gclid and fbclid may be retained when they are present in a URL.
Network information
Our server may record the IP address associated with an analytics request. Hosting and security infrastructure may also process ordinary request data needed to deliver and protect the site.
Messages you send
If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include in your message.
Browser storage
OrientLore uses first-party local storage for a browser identifier, session identifier, recent session time and campaign attribution. Session storage may temporarily hold unsent analytics events so they can be retried. Clearing site data in your browser removes these locally stored values.
How we use information
- Operate, maintain and secure OrientLore.
- Measure page and tool usage and improve navigation and content.
- Diagnose errors, abuse and performance problems.
- Respond to questions, corrections, privacy requests and copyright notices.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use this information to make automated decisions about you.
Retention and sharing
We keep analytics and correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, legal obligations, security and dispute resolution. OrientLore does not currently publish a fixed retention period.
Information may be processed by infrastructure providers that help us host, deliver, secure or maintain the site. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a legitimate transfer of the service.
Embedded third-party content
The DMCA.com protection badge in our footer is loaded from images.dmca.com. When your browser requests that image, DMCA.com may receive ordinary request information such as your IP address, browser information and the page that displayed the badge.
Your choices and requests
You can clear OrientLore site data through your browser and avoid campaign parameters by visiting a clean URL. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask about, access, correct or delete personal information, or object to certain processing.
Send privacy questions or requests to service@orientlore.com. We may need enough information to understand and verify the request, but please do not email sensitive identification documents unless we ask for a specific reason.
External links and changes
OrientLore links to museums, publications and other independent websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We may update this policy as the site changes; the date at the top shows the latest revision.
